It’s time for the HEAV Convention once again! I’m so excited! Last year we didn’t get to attend because of our move, and BOY did I miss it!
Having that jolt of enthusiasm and energy each year is JUST SO IMPORTANT FOR ME I’ve found. I honestly didn’t think it would be a big deal – one year missed, big whoop, right?
But wow, what a hard summer. And school year. Would going to the Convention actually have changed all that we’ve been dealing with this year? I don’t know – maybe not.
I discovered this year – not having gone – I’ve felt just a little flat. I didn’t get that boost of ideas, energy, moral support, and encouragement like I’ve gotten every other summer. I didn’t have the recordings to fall back on through the year like before. Even my girls have mentioned how much they missed going!
Sooooooo . . . we are headed back this summer! We can’t wait!
I’m super excited to hear Dave Stotts speak because I am a HUGE fan of the Drive Thru History series!!
I’m looking forward to Dale Gamashe talk about online classes (something I’m hoping to add more of in our homeschool program!).
My oldest doesn’t know it yet, but she might just be attending Brian Wasko‘s Middle School Writing Clinic!
And I believe my husband is going to be very happy for me to sell that massive mountain of books (that is taking over our house) at the Used Curriculum Sale!

This article was such a breath of fresh air and a nice reminder that we need to remember why we are doing this. If God has called us to the ministry of homeschooling our children, we should be seeking Him and His will first. Thanks for articulating it so well.

I’m looking forward to attending this year. I have not been to a convention for several years now, but I think the time is right for me to attend again. I am excited for many of the speakers and topics, and also the chance to touch some new curricula :).
